Yes, this is very strange! While IMG is a top agency and the address they list is correct, an agency would not send you a message like this. First of all, magazines pay more like $200 even for a cover! Everyone wants tear sheets, so those are not money jobs. Second, you would sign with the agency and then go to castings and get cast. You wouldn’t be promised these jobs and this money before the agency has even met you. What were they asking for? To Skype with your daughter? You could potentially contact the authorities and see if they want to pursue this and see what happens/what they ask for during that Skype session. Keep me in the loop!
