Fashion: The Real 411

I led a workshop on modeling at The WonderGirls “Fashion: The Real 411″ event in NYC on May 2. WonderGirls is an awesome company that gives teens the opportunity to meet and learn from successful—and if this weekend’s bunch is any example, super cool—women. The theme isn’t always fashion, but the message is always similar: dream big, achieve, build self-esteem, be your own individual, and try to filter out some of the crazier texting/twittering/blogging/youtubing/blingringesque mad messages out there! Man, it was hard enough when we were young. We includes some of the other speakers, like What Not to Wear‘s Stacy London, who has a HUGE personality and enough confidence to admit she’s 40 and once sported a Flock of Seagull’s ‘do (yes, Stacy, I remember them too!). Her speech was amazing—if only every teen in America could hear it and really listen to it. I hope I was half as inspiring and a quarter as cool.
