Top Commercial Modeling Agents in New York
We hear a lot about modeling agencies, but commercial or talent agents fly more under the radar. If you are interested in castings/ auditions for commercials, voiceovers, TV, film, and theater, you need a different type of agency than a model seeking fashion editorials, advertising, and runway work. Also, you do not have to worry about strict height and weight guidelines like models do. Actors come in all sizes, shapes, ages, and types. Of course the model type is one of them, so models should also consider having a commercial agent (often your print agent, especially in New York, will have a working relationship with a commercial agent).
Here is a list of reputable commercial agents in New York (representing adults, kids, or in some cases both):

Any tips on how to approach a referral only agency like Innovative??
Again, I’ve consulted with my expert acting advisor, Jenny Mercein, and here’s her answer for you:
Honestly, you won’t have any luck at referal-only agencies such as Innovative or WME unless you have a referal. You will waste your time, energy, and money by sending in unsolicited material or cold calling / emailing. Again, my advice is to form relationships with casting directors. Take classes and workshops with folks who cast for projects you’ve loved (film, television, or theater). Volunteer to be a reader for a casting director. If you are fortunate to make a strong personal relationship with a casting director, you can ask advice on how to obtain an agency or ask for a referal to a specific agent. But tread lightly! You can undo all of the good work you’ve done in building a relationship with a casting agent if you become a nag or have unrealistic expectations about what he or she can do for your career. The same applies to friends who are with fancy agencies. Use your best judgement in terms of asking for a referal, and don’t be offended if your friend declines. This is a tough business. If you are just starting out, you might be best served by a smaller agency.

I’m interested in doing a bariatric commerical, I had a Gastric Bypass 7years ago, I lost 140lbs & I would like to do not only commericals bt be the spoke person. My question i how do I get start??????
Oh boy, that is very specific and a bit outside my realm. I would say google bariatric surgery and see who is advertising it. The best bet would be the clinic/hospital dr who did yours. Or is there an organization that provides info about bariatric surgery? This is not likely something an agency can help you with. Congrats on your impressive weight loss! All the best, Jill
Hi I am interested in doing commercials me and my daughter. We live in Houston but don’t hv a cle on how to get started. I have search and read up about it and I hv gotten nowhere. Can u please tell me the steps or lead me in the right direction as I love fashion.
Hi Kandice,
You probably aren’t going to find much going on in Houston, fashion or commercial wise, but you can try contacting Page Parkes. They have agencies there and Dallas, but also a school there, so they may require you and your daughter to take classes. Acting classes make sense if you are interested in commercials. You can read about Page Parkes here: https://www.modelingmentor.com/blog/exclusive-interview-with-page-parkes-from-scouted-final-episode-airs-tonight/

Have you any experience wiht Take 3, I don’t see them on your website
I don’t have direct experience but they have a good reputation. I’ll plan a blog post listing the top kids’ talent agencies!
Hey there,
I have started modeling recently, and I have done some photo shoots and been in two music videos and a commercial. My goal is to get signed with a decent reputable agency. I am also taking classes to improve my acting skills. I am based in Miami, FL. Would you say staying in Miami is good market to start off into commercial modeling , print , fitness and acting for movies or move to another bigger market like LA or NY. Can you give me some advise for my next move ? Thank you, love your blog. Cheers.
Hi Tejas,
It sounds like you have had a good start and are doing all the right things to prepare for a successful career. Miami is a great launching pad initially. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to spend a season there (through the winter) and build your book, get more experience. The market has slowed down considerably in Miami from when I was there; tourism has just taken over and the city hasn’t been very supportive of the fashion industry, which is too bad. But, still a decent amount of work there and certainly a great place to test. You should definitely enter my model search if you haven’t yet. The link is on my blog home page! Having a talent agent keeps me organized with my career and focused on what I want and need when it comes to my next goal. Every actor should have one. Looking forward to working more with them!
